 Inflatable wakeboard history and today

Inflatable wakeboard history

The earliest inflatable wakeboards were made by the American wakeboard brand Uli and were first sold in the United States in 2001. In 2008, the well-known American brand Redpaddle followed suit and withdrew from its inflatable wakeboard products. Inflatable wakeboard brands began to appear one after another in the following years, but Uli and Redpaddle were indeed pioneers in this field. The earliest inflatable wakeboard products are still in good condition today, and most of them are still in use! The structure of the inflatable paddleboards used today is very similar to the first ones. However, the length and shape of early inflatable paddleboards were very similar, and they were generally between 3.05-3.35M. The thickness is generally 10CM. But early brands and consumers were skeptical of inflatable wakeboards. Are they useful? Will it be recognized by the market? At the time, ULI and Redpaddle were viewed with suspicion and contempt by their peers because of their dedication to the development of inflatable wakeboards. But today, inflatable water skis have caused an uproar in the world of water skiing and have effectively promoted the recognition and popularization of water skiing activities.

Inflatable wakeboards today

Compared with 5-6 years ago, today’s inflatable wakeboard market scene is very different. Not only are there numerous brands, they come in more shapes and sizes than you can imagine. Including other brands that teased ULI and Redpaddle early on, there are few brands that don’t have inflatable wakeboard products in their product lines. But not all inflatable wakeboards are what you want to choose. Their construction, shape, sturdiness and quality vary greatly. As of 2015.8, there are more than 30 brands on the market, but only half of the product quality is reliable. Be careful when purchasing.
